The roots of Spectrum Advantage Group can be traced back as far as 1976 when its owner / CEO served in the United States Air force security police. While serving, he advanced through the ranks and worked in covert operations for the Office of Special Investigations, the militaries equivalent of the FBI. He distinguished himself and was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal.
His military experience led him to public service and municipal police services. In that capacity he promoted to supervisory ranks and was later selected to supervise the Criminal Investigations Division. He was later chosen to develop and implement the department’s first Financial Crimes Unit (fraud) and as a police academy instructor. He worked closely with the community and business owners / operators bringing identified offenders to justice. He was recognized by the United States Attorney Generals Office for “… unmatched professionalism” and received honors for his service from the Federal Bureau of Investigations, United States Secret Service and the United States Postal Inspectors Service. During his career, he was also awarded the Life Saving medal for “outstanding police performance in the saving of a human life” and the Police Officers Medal for “heroic conduct above that called for in normal police duties” and more than 100 citizen commendations. He's has been interviewed by NBC News, a guest speaker at Texas Wesleyan School of Law and recognized in the Wall-Street Journal.
It was natural his investigative abilities and commitment to his chosen profession would not go unnoticed. In 1998 he was recruited by a NASCAR promoter and owner of racing venues across the United States. In this position, he was charged with the responsibility of developing and implementing a nationwide anti-fraud division. He eagerly accepted the challenge. In this capacity, he met and worked with several private investigators in California, Texas and North Carolina.
In 2000, his achievements were recognized in the Carolina’s and he was offered a position as a private investigator with emphasis on conducting worker’s compensation investigations. He began his private investigators career with the same enthusiasm and commitment to professionalism. In 2002, he branched out on his own, developing a small but manageable client base.
In 2005, he was recruited by one of his clients and the largest convenience store chain in the Charlotte North Carolina region to develop their Risk Control (casualty and property) division. To develop a greater understanding of worker’s compensation claims and the application of private investigations to these claims, he accepted the position. Responsible for participating in carrier contract negotiations, claims investigations, training, reporting and direct liaison with claims adjusters, he uniquely positioned himself to understand the total spectrum (“Spectrum Advantage”) of worker’s compensation claims from their inception to conclusion.
He took his collective experience and in 2008 opened Spectrum Advantage Group, a professional private investigations company specializing in documenting the lifestyles of claimants and acquiring information necessary for attorneys and insurance providers to mitigate claim exposure. He has now assembled a team of talented, experienced and Nationally Accredited investigators to assist him and you.
